2 Purpose, legal basis, retention period and data recipients
We require the personal data collected for:
  • to provide customer support and for general business operations,
  • to fulfil contracts or to carry out pre-contractual measures,
  • to provide, execute, maintain, optimise and secure our services and user-related functions, as well as
  • for notifications and our own advertising purposes, for example to communicate product recalls from manufacturers, offers, advertising leaflets and newsletters (in paper and electronic form), as well as for the purpose of referring to the existing or former business relationship with the customer (reference).

The data is collected, stored, processed and used for this purpose.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is, on the one hand, the performance of a contract (e.g. online purchases), legitimate interests, and the fulfilment of our legal or contractual obligations; and, on the other hand, your consent (e.g. contact form, newsletter, cookies). Failure to provide the data may have various consequences.

We process your personal data
  • Name/Company/Organisation/Authority, Department, Legal form
  • Occupation/Job title, Title
  • Customer's postal address and other contact details
  • Contact persons, Case handlers
  • Contact details (telephone number, fax number, email address, etc.)
  • Customer, supplier or employee ID (no.)
  • Bank details, VAT number
where necessary, for the duration of the entire business relationship (from the initiation and execution of a contract through to its termination) and beyond, in accordance with the statutory retention and documentation obligations arising, inter alia, from the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB), the Federal Tax Code (BAO) and until the conclusion of any legal dispute, ongoing warranty and guarantee periods, etc.

In the course of operating our websites, we engage software service providers and agencies which may gain access to your personal data in the course of their work, provided that they require such data to perform their respective services. These parties have undertaken to comply with the applicable data protection regulations. Data processing agreements have been concluded in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR. 3 Data security
We implement technical and organisational security measures to protect the personal data we hold against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss or destruction, and against access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological advancements.

4 Data storage
For technical reasons, the following usage data - which is transmitted by a user's web browser to the web server - is recorded, amongst other things:
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Website from which the user visits our website ("referrer URL”)
  • Website visited by the user
  • Date and time of access
  • Internet Protocol (IP address of the user's computer)
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Notification of successful retrieval

This data is stored separately from any user data provided (in particular name, address, username, password, email address, telephone number and fax number) and analysed for statistical purposes in order to optimise our website and our services.

Please note that, for the purpose of simplifying the purchasing process and for subsequent contract processing, the IP address of the connection owner is stored via cookies, as are the user's name, address, contact details and messages.

The data you provide is necessary for the performance of the contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. Without this data, we cannot conclude the contract with you. No data is transferred to third parties, with the exception of the transfer of payment data to the processing banks / payment service providers for the purpose of debiting the purchase price, to the transport or shipping company commissioned by us for the delivery of the goods, to our tax advisor to fulfil our tax obligations, and to suppliers or manufacturers in the event of warranty claims or to insurance companies in the event of complaints.

If the purchase process is cancelled, the data stored by us will be deleted. If a contract is concluded, all data relating to the contractual relationship will be stored until the expiry of the statutory retention period for tax purposes (7 years).

Furthermore, the data comprising name, address, goods purchased and date of purchase will be stored until the expiry of the product liability period. Data processing is carried out on the basis of the statutory provisions of Section 96(3) of the Telecommunications Act (TKG) and Article 6(1)(a) (consent) and/or (b) (necessary for the performance of a contract) of the GDPR.

5 Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on a visitor's device.

6 Social Plugins
We may use social plugins (e.g. share and like buttons) from the following social networks on our website:

When a user who is registered with a social network and is currently logged in visits our website, which contains such a plugin, the user's browser establishes a direct connection to the social network's servers via cookies set by the social network and the plugin on our website. It is possible that social networks can also recognise via the plugin that a logged-in user is on our website without the plugin being clicked.

When the plugins are integrated, the social network operator is informed that the user has visited the relevant site. When the user interacts with social plugins, the relevant information is transmitted directly from their browser to the social network operator and stored there.

These plugins are each marked with the logo of the relevant social network.

7 Integration of third-party services and content
It may happen that content or services from third-party providers, such as city maps or fonts from other websites, are embedded within our online offering. The embedding of third-party content always requires the third-party providers to collect the user's IP address, as they would be unable to send the content to the user's browser without it. The IP address is therefore necessary for the display of this content. Furthermore, the providers of third-party content may set their own cookies and process users' data for their own purposes. In doing so, user profiles may be created from the processed data. We will use this content in a manner that minimises and avoids the collection of data as much as possible, and will select reliable third-party providers with regard to data security.

8 Contact forms
The information you provide, including personal data from our contact form, is transmitted to us via our own mail server for the purpose of processing your enquiry, and is subsequently processed and stored by us. This data will not be collected without your consent. Without this data, we are unable to process your enquiries.

If you contact us via the form on the website or by email, the data you provide will be stored by us for six months for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions, in order to process your enquiry and ensure the best possible support, advice and service. This includes the transmission of product information and the forwarding of your data to the relevant specialist advisor or sales partner for expert advice regarding the preparation of any quotations.
Data processing is carried out on the basis of the legal provisions of Section 96(3) of the Telecommunications Act (TKG) and Article 6(1)(a) (consent) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

9 Newsletter
You can subscribe to our newsletter on the website; this is done via the double opt-in procedure. After subscribing, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. We cannot send you our newsletter unless you provide this information. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter.

We engage data processors to send out our newsletter. These processors have undertaken to comply with the applicable data protection regulations. A data processing agreement has been concluded in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR. Unless there is a legal obligation to retain such data, you have the right to have this data erased and to object to its processing.
